Wiperblades.co.uk-backed Team VERTU returned to the top step of the podium during Round 4 of the 2025 British Touring Car Championship as Tom Ingram scored victory at Thruxton.
The High Wycombe driver romped to his first victory of the season at the Hampshire venue, which is renowned for being the fastest racing circuit in the UK with speeds reaching in excess of 160mph.
Ingram went on to supplement his victory with a pair of second place finishes in Race 2 and 3, results that consolidate his status as a title contender.
After four rounds of the 2025 season, Ingram has stood on the podium in nine of 12 races, putting him just nine points shy of the championship lead with five events still to go.
“I’m really pleased with the weekend and coming away from it with a front row start, a win and two second places is great,” the 2023 BTCC title-winner said.
“We’ve scored a good haul of points, although it’s slightly bonkers that we’ve done that have still only clawed back six points in the championship – which shows how tough it is this year.
“It’s good to get that first win of the season under my belt, and to give the team a first win at Thruxton, and we’ll look to add to it at Oulton Park next time out.”
Though it was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Team VERTU’s other podium-winning drivers - Tom Chilton and Adam Morgan – there were celebrations for the newest member of the team, Senna Proctor.
Joining Team VERTU for the first time in the run up to the Thruxton event, Proctor quickly got himself up to speed in the Hyundai i30 N Fastback to reel off a trio of top ten results, including a fourth place finish in Race 3.
“My return to the series could certainly have gone a lot worse, and I think three top ten finishes gives me a good platform to build on.
“I know there is a lot more to come over the remainder of the season. The car is fantastic and so much different to when I previously raced it during its debut season.
“It might be the same shape as it was in 2020 but under the skin, it’s changed in pretty much every way. The team has done a fantastic job with it, and credit to them – so I can’t wait to really get the best out of it as I get back up to speed.”
